What is Trushel-Thomson Talent?

Trushel-Thomson Talent is a Talent Agency licensed by The Ministry of Labour. Jennifer Trushel-Thomson is the Owner/Operator of Trushel-Thomson Talent. Jennifer has been working as a Background  Agent in the Vancouver Film Industry for over 14 years.

How do I sign up?

To become a Background Performer you need to call Trushel-Thomson Talent at (604) 682-3640 and set up an appointment. Jennifer will take your digital photograph and create a resume for you.  The registration fee is $25 and will be deducted from your first paycheque. No experience is necessary.

Can children work as Background Performers?

Children must be accompanied by a legal guardian while on set.

How much will I make?

Non-Union Background Performers are paid a minimum of $9.09 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. As an Agent Jennifer deducts 15% Agency Commission plus GST from your gross earnings (not including vacation pay).

How do I become a Union member?

To become a Union of B.C. Performers member you need six credits (i.e. speaking parts). To become a U.B.C.P. apprentice member you need one credit.
